Douglas Fir wood has straight, fine grain, high bending and fracture resistance, and good rigidity. It also has high hardness and wear resistance, dries easily with low cracking potential, and maintains good dimensional stability. Glulam made from Douglas Fir has excellent bonding properties and absorbs paint and stains well.
